Our Restoration Process
Understanding what your project will entail can help make the process go even smoother and improve the experience for everyone involved. To get a better idea of what you can expect, take a look at our step-by-step guide below.
Step 1: Planning and Preparation
- Please clear a spot in your driveway so that your new roofing material may be delivered and unloaded easily and stored safely out of the way of vehicles.
- Because debris and sawdust will unavoidably fall from the roof as we’re working on it, be sure to cover all valuable items in your attic.
- Roof installations and exterior remodels both cause vibrations, so make sure that you remove pictures and loose items from your walls and protect your ceiling fixtures.
- Please mark any underground sprinkler heads, to ensure none get covered by material during the project.
- Cover all outdoor furniture, fire pits, BBQ equipment, etc.
- For all safety purposes, please keep all children and pets indoors while we’re working on your project.
Step 2: Delivery of Materials
Approximately two (2) days before your roofing project is to begin, the roofing material will be delivered to your home and loaded to your roof. In most instances, the material is unloaded in the driveway.
At Iron Hawk Roofing, we understand you still need to use your driveway, which is why we’ll place the materials in an area that is out of the way so you will still be able to access your vehicles, trash cans, etc.
Step 3: Construction
It’s time for your project to begin! On the agreed upon day and time, our crew will arrive at your property and start the remodeling or roof installation process.
While it’s not a requirement, we always recommend that you be home while our contractors are on the job and working. Of course, if this isn’t feasible or you must leave your home for any reason, rest assured that we’ll continue to uphold our commitment and integrity.
Step 4: Cleanup
Our crews always clean as they work, striving to keep the workspace and your property as tidy and safe as possible throughout the project. Once the remodel or installation is complete, we will go through the following checklist:
- Your property will be thoroughly raked.
- We’ll comb through your property using a nail magnet to pick up any leftover debris.
- We will assist in moving any items that were moved for the construction back to their original spots.
When we’re through, you should not be able to tell we were there – other than having a beautifully repaired/remodeled home!
Step 5: Satisfaction
While we always strive to carry out every project to perfection, we understand that occasional issues may sometimes arise. We’d like to take care of these issues while we’re still on-site, if possible.
As such, when we’re finished with the construction and cleanup process, we will perform a complete and thorough walk-through with you to make sure all expectations have been met, and that you are no less than 100% satisfied with our work.
You can expect to see shingle granules and debris wash out through the gutters after the first few rainstorms – this is completely normal. Other than that, sit back, relax and enjoy your new-and-improved property!
